Welcome

...to my Treehouse, where I do a bit of sharing goodies with my readers, and a lot of showing off of my CT tags. It's my little nest in the busy world of psp.

Squirrely has been my nickname since I was a child, both because it rhymes with my real name, and because I'm forgetful and just plain nuts at times. I've been tagging for 2+ decades off and on, and now that I'm retired/disabled I'm pretty much on most of the time now.

I love to share what I make with you, and I LOVE it when you respond with love back for the shares. So have a look around, take what you like and enjoy yourself. Just watch for splinters.

Frosty Snow Princess - PTU, animated tut.

Yes, it's early for snow lol.  But I loved the movie and LOVE LOVE LOVE this tube so I had to play with it.

Tube - This gorgeous new tube is by Danny Lee, "Frost Girl" which can be found HERE.
ScrapKit - I've used a new delicate kit by Whisper In The Wind that matches this tube and shares it's name "Frost Girl", which can also be found at S&Co HERE
Template - Template 700 by Millie which you can d/l HERE. Great mask designer this lady :).
Filters - EyeCandy glow and drop shadow
Mask - WSL_mask84 can be found on Wee Scottish Lass' blog HERE
Font - Euphoria Script
Supply zip HERE which contains the snow animation. I've looked all over the internet for the original source of this snow to no avail.  I've had it since 2006, so if anyone knows the creator please let me know so I can credit them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Tutorial abbreviations:
s/sa/fl/defl/ = Selections/Select All/Float/Defloat
c/p = copy & paste
d/s = drop shadow
f/f = flood fill
A/S = animation shop
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Throughout the tut I used EyeCandy dropshadow of distance 3, blur 5, opacity 40 with color #273d41, except where noted.

1. Open Millie's template, duplicate and close the original. Delete the credit layer and layers 11, 12, 14 & 15. Unhide and highlight the white background layer. Open Paper 2 and r/s to 700 pixels wide, c/p as a new layer onto the template.  Highlight your crop tool and snap crop on merged opaque. Load the WSL_mask84 and merge group.  Grap your pick tool and pull the nodes out a bit so more of the mask is visible.

2. Highlight layer 1, s/sa/fl/defl/invert.  Open Paper 9 and r/s to 300x300.  C/p as a new layer and move up to cover layer 1 and tap delete.  Duplicate this layer and move it down to cover layer 2.  Select none and delete layers 1 & 2.

3. Highlight layer 4, s/sa/fl/defl/invert.  Open Paper 7 and r/s to 300x300.  C/p as a new layer and move to the right to cover layer 4 and tap delete. Duplicate and mirror.  Select none and delete layers 3 & 4.

4. Highlight layer 5, s/sa/fl/defl/invert.  Open Paper 1 and r/s to 300x300.  C/p as a new layer and move to the left to cover layer 5 and tap delete. Duplicate and mirror.  Select none and delete layers 5 & 6.

5. Highlight layer 8 and merge down with layer 7, s/sa/fl/defl/invert.  Open Paper 6 and c/p as a new layer onto your template and tap delete, select none.

6. Highlight layer 9, s/sa/fl/defl/invert.  Open Paper 5 and r/s 60%, c/p as a new layer and tap delete, select none.  Open El94 (igloo) and r/s 55%.  C/p as a new layer over layer 10, moving it up a bit to cover that layer and delete layer 10.  Open frame 1 and r/s 60.  C/p as a new layer and then Sharpness, unsharp mask with these settings:

Delete layers 9 & 10.

7. Open your tube now and r/s as desired.  C/p as a new layer and duplicate, Gaussian Blur of 5 and change the blend mode to soft light. Change the d/s to distance 7, blur 12, opacity 26.

8. Now we're going to decorate, so reference my tag and...
:::El 21, r/s 75%, c/p as a new layer just above the mask layer.
:::El 20  r/s 50%, c/p below the igloo layer and move to the left.  Duplicate, mirror.
:::El 51 r/s 50% and c/p as a new layer below your tube and move to the right. Duplicate and free rotate left 90 degrees. Drop this layer below the silver leaves on the left.
:::El 58 r/s 25% and c/p as a new layer below your tube layer and to the far left.
:::El 62  r/s 20% and c/p as a new layer moving it the left side, above and behind the music box.
:::El 84 r/s 20% and c/p as a new layer above your tube layer, moving it to the right side on the bottom.  R/s it again 75% and unsharp mask.
:::El 30, r/s 30% and c/p as a new layer and move it to the bottom right of your tube and tuck it behind the heart box, unsharp mask
:::El 43 r/s 65% and c/p as a new layer above the heart box and move it just to the left of your tube.  Add a d/s of distance 4, blur 8, opacity 35.
:::El 25 r/s 20% and c/p as a new layer moving it to the left top.  R/s it again 75% and unsharp mask, duplicate and mirror.
:::El 96 r/s 35% and c/p as a new layer just below your tube layer.  Move to the right, grab your pick tool & rotate it slightly to the left so it sits even with the circle.  Duplicate and mirror, moving this side down a little bit.
:::El 18 r/s 25% and then again 50%, unsharp mask as before and mirror. C/p as a new layer moving to the far right just below the lights.
:::El 11, r/s 60, c/p as a new layer above the tube layer and move it to the right.
:::El 105 r/s 75%, c/p as a new layer just below your tube layer and move it up slightly.  Don't add a d/s to this layer.
:::El 35  r/s 75%, c/p at the top of your layer palette. Move it down to the very bottom of your tag, then move it in your layer palette to just above your mask layer & rename it "floor".

9. Crop and r/s your tag now if desired - all layers checked. Add your artist's copyright info and your name (color #97d9e6 and add noise gaussian, 40 and monochrome). Add a white Eye Candy glow of 2, 100, fat, and a d/s of distance 2, blur 4, opacity 76.

10. Merge your tag and then Copy, open Animation Shop (A/S) and paste as a new animation.

11. In A/S open the included animation, sneeuw2006Bieke and note it has 10 frames and is very large.  Select all frames, r/s to size of your tag (maintain aspect ration UNchecked).

12. Duplicate the frames of your tag until you have 10 and select all.  Move to the snow, select all, copy and move back to your tag and paste into selection.  Run your animation to be sure you're happy with it, and save your tag as a gif.

I hope you've enjoyed this tutorial, and would love to know what you
think of it in the comments below.
