Welcome

...to my Treehouse, where I do a bit of sharing goodies with my readers, and a lot of showing off of my CT tags. It's my little nest in the busy world of psp.

Squirrely has been my nickname since I was a child, both because it rhymes with my real name, and because I'm forgetful and just plain nuts at times. I've been tagging for 2+ decades off and on, and now that I'm retired/disabled I'm pretty much on most of the time now.

I love to share what I make with you, and I LOVE it when you respond with love back for the shares. So have a look around, take what you like and enjoy yourself. Just watch for splinters.

New Years in Cancun!

Tube - I've used Danny Lee's new party tube "Purple Pin Up" is super sexy but also very sweet, which can be found HERE at S&Co.  Please don't use without a license.
Scrap Kit - I've used 'Fiesta', a great New Years kit with elements that can allow you to create many non-holiday related tags.  This was created by Bibi Collection and can also be purchased at S&Co. HERE.
Mask - WSL_Mask148
Filters - Eye Candy 3.1 Drop Shadow
Font - Ruthie
-------------------------------------------------
Tutorial abbreviations:
s/sa/fl/defl/ = Selections/Select All/Float/Defloat
c/p = copy & paste
d/s = drop shadow
f/f = flood fill
-------------------------------------------------
Unless otherwise directed, add an EyeCandy dropshadow of
distance 5, blur 10, opacity 42, with color #000000.

1. Open a new image 700 x 700 and f/f with white, we can crop and r/s later.  Add a new layer and f/f with color #005e8b and apply WSL_Mask 138 to it, merge group. Move this up till the top is about an inch from the top of the tag.

2. Open elem 9 and r/s 50%. C/p it as a new layer above the mask layer, and move it all the way down to the bottom of your tag. S/sa/fl/defl, modify and expand by 4.  Add a new layer and drop it below the keyboard, f/f with black and select none. Open elem 37 and r/s 70%, c/p as a new layer dropping it below the piano layer in your layers palette and tuck behind it.  Open elem 7 and r/s 80%, c/p as a new layer and bring up to the 'hang' from the top of the mask layer. Open elem 2, r/s 50% and c/p as a new layer moving it up towards the top of your tag, no d/s on this layer.  Open elem 29 and c/p as a new layer, enhance the trees.

3. R/s your tube as needed and c/p it to the right side. Now open elem 24 and r/s 25%, c/p this to be held in her hand and enhance it, no d/s.  Use your freeform selections tool around her thumb and promote it to a layer.  Move this up in your palette to above elem 24 so it looks like she's really holding it.  Open elem49, r/s 40% and c/p as a new layer. R/s again 85% move it the left side. Open elem 18 and r/s 35%, c/p as a new layer to lean against the left side of the car.

4. Open elem 12 and r/s 40%. C/p it to your tag, move it down a wee bit to it appears the right side of the banner is wrapped around the waist of your tube (move your tube a bit if necessary). Add a heavy d/s of 10, 10, 50.  Open elem23 and r/s 50%, sharpen.  C/p this just below the car and have it look like it's sitting in the back seat, repeat the heavy d/s. Grab elem 31 and r/s 30% and then 50%. C/p it to hang from the New Years banner, then enhance it 2X.  Open elem32 and r/s this 40%, c/p it to sit on top of the disco ball, no d/s on this layer.

5. Now let's decorate this party!!!....
:::Open elem 40 and r/s 40%. C/p as a new layer at the top of your layer palette, moving it to the bottom of your tag in the middle.
:::Open elem 41 and r/s 50%, c/p it to the same spot.
:::Open elem 33 and r/s 40%. C/p it and dangle it from the top left corner of the mask layer. Duplicate and mirror, moving this one down in your layer palette if needed to be behind your tube.
:::Open elem 25 and c/p as a new layer, dropping it below the VW (car) layer.
:::Highlight the tree layer and open elem 38.  C/p this as a new layer.
:::Highlight the New Years banner layer and open elem 14. R/s it 35% and c/p it to 'hang it' on the bass fiddle.
:::Open elem 6 and c/p to the top of your layer palette.  Move it over so it encircles the disco ball, no d/s
:::Open elem 19 and r/s 35%. C/p it as a new layer dropping below your tube in your layers palette so he peeks out from behind her legs.

6. Duplicate your tube and add a Gaussian Blur of 6 to this layer, then change the blend mode to soft light.  Add your artist's copyright information and your name, merge and save as a jpeg.

Enjoy your new New Year's tag, and know I wish you & yours
nothing but the very best in the coming year.
