Welcome

...to my Treehouse, where I do a bit of sharing goodies with my readers, and a lot of showing off of my CT tags. It's my little nest in the busy world of psp.

Squirrely has been my nickname since I was a child, both because it rhymes with my real name, and because I'm forgetful and just plain nuts at times. I've been tagging for 2+ decades off and on, and now that I'm retired/disabled I'm pretty much on most of the time now.

I love to share what I make with you, and I LOVE it when you respond with love back for the shares. So have a look around, take what you like and enjoy yourself. Just watch for splinters.

"Heart of the City" - a ptu tut

Tube - I've used an oldie but goodie by The Hunter called "My Angel".
Scrap Kit - "Heartbreaker" by Designs by Joan which is on sale right now and a great gothic kit.
Mask - another great mask by Vix_Val2012Mask2 which you can d/l HERE
Filters - Eye Candy 3.1 Drop Shadow
Template - Twysted T's Temp 52 which you can d/l HERE.
Supply zip - included Photoeffex filter (extract to your plugins location) HERE.

-------------------------------------------------
Tutorial abbreviations:
s/sa/fl/defl/ = Selections/Select All/Float/Defloat
c/p = copy & paste
d/s = drop shadow
f/f = flood fill
-------------------------------------------------
Unless otherwise directed, add an EyeCandy drop shadow of direction 310, distance 5, blur 10, opacity 50 with color #000000.

1. Open template 52, duplicate and close the original, change the canvas size to 800 x 650, we'll crop and/or r/s later.  Select all and add a new layer; open PP9 and paste into selection; select none.  Apply Vix mask to the layer and merge group.

2. Highlight raster 7 and s/sa/fl/defl.  Open PP-8, r/s 90% and c/p as a new layer, invert and tap delete, select none.  Repeat these steps on Raster 2 with PP-3.

3. Highlight raster 13 - s/sa/fl/defl and f/f with color #6a2826 or a color from your tube.  Duplicate, mirror and flip to cover raster 13 copy. Delete all original layers as you go along.

4. Highlight raster 3, s/sa/fl/defl add a new raster layer. Open elem82 and paste into selection.  Duplicate and move down to cover raster 3 copy.

5. Highlight raster 5, s/sa/fl/defl.  Open PP2 and r/s 85%, c/p as a new layer, invert and tap delete, select none. Repeat these steps using the same paper on the raster 4 layer, keep selected.  Grab your tube closeup and c/p on the layer moving it until you're happy with the placement.  Invert and tap delete, select none.  Change the blend mode to burn, or one suitable for your tube.

6. Highlight raster 6 and apply the Photo Effex Scanlines with these settings:

7. Highlight raster 8. Open elem 58 and r/s 75%, c/p as a new layer, change the blend mode to screen. You'll want to get rid of the bottom corners of the city that hang over the template, so grab your eraser tool work carefully to erase it.

8. Open your main tube and r/s as needed. C/p as a new layer at the top of your layer palette. Duplicate and add a Gaussian Blur of 6 to this layer, change the blend mode to overlay.  On your original tube add a d/s of 10, 10, 30.

9. Now we'll decorate with a few elements:
:::Open elem-4 and c/p as a new layer above the left large circle layer. Duplicate and pull this layer down over the bottom right large circle layer.
:::Open elem-22, r/s 50%. C/p and move down to the bottom of your template.
:::Open elem-112, r/s 25%. C/p above raster 9 in your palette and move it up to cover that layer.
:::Open elem-72, r/s 40%. C/p and move down and to the left as if it's hanging from raster 8.
:::Open elem-73, r/s 50%. C/p and move it in front of your tube like it's hanging from the long rectangle.
:::Open elem-118, r/s 50% and duplicate 2x, merge visible and flip. C/p below your tube layer and move to the bottom left of the center rectangle. No d/s on this layer.
:::Open elem-117, r/s 50%. C/p above the tube layers and move in front of the tube.
:::Open elem-29, r/s 75%. C/p as a new layer above raster 11 and move down so it hangs just above the bottom of the template. Erase a bit of the right side to it appears to be hanging from the frame of the large circle layer.

10. Crop and/or r/s as desired, add your artist's copyright information and your name, and you're done!
